Mississippi State has fired Coach Joe Moorhead after just two seasons. The Associated Press citing a report from the online network Stadium says athletic director John Cohen informed Moorhead of the decision at a meeting today. The Bulldogs went 14-12 under Moorhead, who is the third Power Five conference coach to be fired since November. Mississippi State was 6-7 this season and lost to Louisville earlier this week in the Music City Bowl in Nashville.
