Gorman bringing band ‘Trigger Hippy’ to Hopkinsville

Hopkinsville native Steve Gorman, who was the drummer and founding member of The Black Crowes, will perform with his band Trigger Hippy at the Alhambra Theatre next month.

The concert is set for February 28 at 7:30 p.m. and organizers say the band plays a generous mix of country, Delta blues, R&B and gospel as well as Southern rock.

Trigger Hippy will play songs from its recently released sophomore album, “Full Circle And Then Some,” and more.

Tickets are available online at pennyroyalarts.org or can be purchased at the box office at the Alhambra Theatre for $25.

Pennyroyal Arts Council Executive Director Margaret Prim is quoted in a news release as saying, “We’re thrilled to be able to bring such a talented Hopkinsville musician for his first ever show in his hometown.”

Recently, Gorman released a memoir, “Hard to Handle: The Life and Death of The Black Crowes”, chronicling his 30-year tenure with the band that sold more than 30 million albums and performed thousands of live shows.
