A Hopkinsville man has been charged with robbery following a disturbance on North O’Neal Avenue Monday night.

According to the Hopkinsville police report, officers responded to reports of a disturbance, where the victim told officers they and 36-year old Justin Coleman of Hopkinsville had been in a verbal argument.  Coleman allegedly punched the victim in the face, stole her cellphone and charger and then left the scene.

Coleman was located later in the area of South Jessup Street, and he reportedly told officers he hadn’t stolen the phone, the victim had just lost it.  Using the ‘find my phone’ app, officers located the phone in a large bush in the area of North Jessup.

Coleman was arrested and charged with second-degree robbery and tampering with physical evidence.
