A Hopkinsville man has been arrested and charged for allegedly using fake money and then fleeing from police Thursday.
According to the Hopkinsville police report, officers were called to a West Seventh Street location for reports that 54-year old Daniel Rager of Hopkinsville had used fake currency there. When officers arrived, Rager allegedly saw police and ran from the scene. He was taken into custody following a brief foot pursuit, and methamphetamine was allegedly discovered in the path he had taken.
Witnesses also informed officers Rager had thrown something into the trash, and a search reportedly revealed several “for motion picture use only” bills. He allegedly had tried to use the fake money at the business prior to police arrival.
