There are reports the FBI is investigating the pardons former Kentucky Governor Matt Bevin doled out as he was leaving office earlier this month.
Bevin pardoned or commuted the sentences of more than 650 people.
One case that attracted attention from lawmakers was the pardon of Patrick Baker, who was serving a 19-year sentence for reckless homicide and robbery.
Baker’s brother held a campaign fundraiser for Bevin in 2018 and a prominent Republican donor who gave more than a hundred-thousand dollars to the governor urged Bevin to issue the pardon.
