The delegation from Hopkinsville Middle School for the Kentucky Youth Assembly returned home recently, and celebrated their success during the program.
According to a news release, 49 students from HMS attended the Kentucky Youth Assembly in Louisville and Frankfort earlier this month. The program brings students from across the Commonwealth to Frankfort to act in a sort of mock legislature where they propose legislation and debate and ultimately vote on measures.
Livi Ray was elected to serve as Governor and will serve during next year’s assembly, Hannah Wolfe was recognized as an Outstanding Delegate, Will Adams served as the Governor’s Chief of Staff and Kylie Batts was selected to serve as House Chamber Chairperson. HHS Freshman Allie Fort served as Governor of this assembly.
The Hopkinsville Middle School delegation received the Conference Life Award. This award is voted on by other delegations and is given to a premiere delegation who created a positive environment, embodied the spirit of the conference, outstanding behavior, and displayed servant leadership throughout the conference.
