Two people were arrested on multiple drug trafficking charges following an investigation by Hopkinsville police Sunday afternoon.
Officers were investigating a disturbance in the 700 block of South Virginia Street and found a vehicle involved at a location in the 800 block of South Main.
An arrest citation says 34-year old Lurena Sutton of Hopkinsville came to the door, but claimed the individual police were looking for wasn’t there. Officers could see 40-year old Christopher Shaw hiding inside and saw Sutton go to his location.
The owner of the property gave consent to search and police arrested Sutton and Shaw.
A search allegedly revealed a large amount of methamphetamine, synthetic drugs, marijuana and a scale.
Both suspects were arrested and charged with trafficking in meth, synthetic drugs and marijuana. Shaw was additionally served with a warrant for probation violation and is charged with tampering with evidence, theft of identity and receiving stolen property.
An arrest citation says Shaw initially gave officers a false name and presented a stolen social security card.
Sutton was also charged with hindering the apprehension of a fugitive for attempting to hide Shaw.
