Todd Co. woman arrested for burglary warrant, drug charges

A Todd County woman was served with a warrant for burglary Sunday morning and she is now facing new drug possession charges.

Todd County Sheriff’s Sgt. Patrick Turner went to a Greenville Road location and located 39-year old Cheryl Barnes of Elkton, who was wanted on a warrant taken out by State Police for second-degree burglary.

It alleges that she went inside another Greenville Road home without permission to be there and stole property.

An arrest citation for Barnes says there was a clear plastic baggie containing methamphetamine in the home out in plain view. Further search revealed a marijuana grinder containing marijuana, a partially smoked marijuana cigarette, a glass pipe and digital scales.

Barnes was additionally charged with possession of meth, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
