Two arrested after altercation involving knife

Two people were arrested on felony assault charges Friday morning following an altercation involving  a knife at a Greenville Road home.

The Christian County Sheriff’s Department arrested 42-year old Tamiko McGill and 37-year old Jasmine Alexander of Hopkinsville for second-degree assault, with Alexander also charged with second-degree strangulation.

The police reports say the suspects who live together were in an argument that became physical.

Alexander allegedly cut McGill on the arm with a knife and McGill allegedly cut Alexander on the hand, causing a severe laceration.

Both suspects gave different stories on the course of events, according to police.
