A former Christian County Middle School assistant football coach accused of internet sex crimes with a juvenile accepted a plea deal in Christian Circuit Court Wednesday morning.
Thirty-seven-year-old Bryan Wimbleduff of Cerulean pled guilty to two counts of using an electronic device to procure a minor and one count of sending obscene material to a minor. Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney Stephanie Bolen said the deal comes with a recommended sentence of eight years and while the Commonwealth opposes probation, they are neutral on shock probation.
Judge John Atkins accepted Wimbleduff’s plea after being assured it was his own decision and that he was satisfied by the work of defense attorney Jason Holland.
The Judge then ordered a pre-sentencing investigation on Wimbleduff.
An arrest warrant says that on July 15 of this year, Wimbleduff sent a photo of his private parts to a 15-year old male and requested photos of the minor’s private parts.
Wimbleduff allegedly offered money to the teen if he’d send images of himself in a sexual performance.
He will have to register as a sex offender as part of his sentence.
Final sentencing was scheduled for March 4.
