The University of Louisville is ranked number one in the 2020 preseason by Collegiate Baseball Newspaper. The Cardinals, who finished third at the 2019 College World Series, finished the season 51-18. Defending national champion Vanderbilt is picked second. The Commodores were 59-12. In all, five Southeastern Conference schools are in the top 10 including Mississippi State who is ranked sixth. The Bulldogs were 52-15 in 2019 and have former University Heights standout Drew McGowan on the 2020 squad.
