A request for a bond reduction was denied Monday morning in Christian Circuit Court for the man accused of shooting a woman last year in Oak Grove.
Twenty-one-year-old Adrian Murray is accused of shooting Keosha Willis during an incident on September 1, 2018 on Meridians Way.
Assistant Commonwealths’ Attorney Stephanie Bolen opposed the defense motion filed by attorney David Rye.
She noted Murray led police on a pursuit into Tennessee several weeks later and that he had drugs and a gun on him when he was eventually arrested.
Rye reminded Judge Atkins that trial isn’t scheduled for another five months and that Murray has been incarcerated for about three months. He says Murray disputes Bolen’s description of the events and requested a bond somewhere close to 1,000 to 1,500 dollars.
Judge Atkins denied the bond motion, saying Murray presents a danger to the community.
He remains lodged in the Christian County Jail on a $62,000 bond, with trial scheduled for May 21. Murray is indicted on charges of first-degree assault, trafficking in cocaine, wanton endangerment and fleeing or evading police.
