Hopkinsville Community College is celebrating breaking their $45,000 goal for this year’s annual fundraising campaign, which will benefit students in need.
According to a news release, HCC reached $48,000 at their Giving Tuesday event at Casey Jones Distillery this week and the money will go towards the Passionate Aid that Transforms right Here, or PATH, initiative. It’s designed to help eliminate barriers keep students from succeeding, from transportation difficulties, food insecurity, students fresh out of high school and more.
Chief Advancement Officer Yvette Eastham says, “While we continue to grow our scholarship funds, we increasingly see non-academic barriers to post-secondary education hindering students from completing a credential or degree. We have students who are hungry, who are homeless, with a variety of struggles to overcome trying to make their lives better, and we wanted to step up our efforts to address those challenges.”
Gifts to the campaign include additions to scholarship funds, monies for Pathfinder Pantry and support for the Goode Family Student Emergency Fund. Donations can be made by calling the college advancement office at (270) 707-3733.
