Thirty law enforcement officers graduate basic training, two with HPD

Thirty law enforcement officers from across the state graduated from basic training Thursday at the Kentucky Department of Criminal Justice Training program.

Of that number, two will come to the Hopkinsville Police Department—Joseph Bufford and Tyler Daniels.  According to a news release, Bufford was named a Recruit of Distinction and Daniels received and Outstanding Performance Award for Physical Fitness.

The graduates completed 20 weeks of training, which consisted of 800 hours of recruit-level instruction. Major training areas included law offenses and procedures, vehicle operations, firearms, investigations, first aid and the mechanics of arrest, restraint and control.
