Governor Matt Bevin says he will leave office next week proud of his accomplishments over the last four years and isn’t ruling out running for office again in the future.
In an interview with WHOP News, Bevin claims his administration has operated with integrity and was successful on issues like pro-life legislation and criminal justice reform.
Governor Bevin regrets not getting the pensions systems fixed, but says he’s proud that they were fully funded in his administration.
Bevin doesn’t attribute his loss to Andy Beshear on Election Day to any one specific issue, noting that more people voted for him this year than in 2015. Bevin claims Democrats did a good job of what he calls “harvesting votes” in urban areas.
The governor says he will enjoy Christmas with his family in the coming weeks and doesn’t know what the future holds for him. He also isn’t ruling out another run for political office in the future.
