New trial date set for alleged gunman in Allensville murder case

A new trial date was set Wednesday morning in Todd Circuit Court for Daniel Westbrook, the alleged gunman in the September, 2018 shooting death of Jerry Robertson near Allensville.

Public defender Nate Beard requested a March 16 trial date, with a resolution deadline of March 11.

Circuit Judge Joe Hendricks set trial for that date and scheduled another pre-trial conference for next week.

Westbrook allegedly shot Robertson three times during an altercation on Stateline Road.

His codefendants—Douglas Cropper, Timmie Latham, Faith Martin and Brandi Scruggs—all accepted plea deals in October for their alleged roles in the incident.
