Fire caused heavy damage to a home near Crofton Tuesday afternoon.
Firefighters were called to 13345 Macedonia-Crofton Road a few minutes before 2 p.m. and crews arrived to find the home already fully engulfed in flames.
Deputies from the Christian County Sheriff’s Office and members of the Crofton Volunteer Fire Department were able to help a dog make it outside safely, according to officials on scene, who said the house is likely a total loss and that the residents were not home.
It’s possible the fire was electrical in nature, but the cause remains under investigation.
Firefighters from Crofton, Lacy, West Side and Northwest were called to the scene.
