HCC raising funds to benefit students in need

Hopkinsville Community College’s annual fundraising campaign is now underway, and the money raised this year will go to benefit students who need some help this year.

HCC President and CEO Dr. Alissa Young says in previous years, the fundraising has been focused on their build smart campaign, which resulted in the completion of the new Emerging Technologies building.  She says with that complete, they will now focus on the PATH campaign, which is a fund designed to help the students directly.

Dr. Young says many students struggle with different problems, from transportation limitations to food insecurity, and this will help eliminate some of those barriers.

The college goal for the campaign is $45,000 and they will celebrate Giving Tuesday and donors during a special event at Casey Jones Distillery beginning at 5:30 p.m. on December 3. All donors at $80.76 or more are invited to attend the event, and gifts will be accepted at the door that evening. Gifts may also be made by calling (270) 707-3733.
