Land Between the Lakes is once again offering people the chance to pick their own cedar Christmas tree and cut it down themselves.
According to the LBL website, a permit allows a family to cut down one cedar tree, less than 10 feet tall, anywhere in the LBL area. The only places a tree cannot be cut is within sight of U.S. 68 KY 80 and the Trace, cemeteries, nature watch areas, campgrounds and mowed areas.
The offer lasts until December 24. Permits are available at the administrative office Monday through Friday 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. They can also be picked up online at land-between-the-lakes dot u-s, along with maps and guidelines.
Chainsaws maybe used, but using trucks, winches or other heavy equipment is not allowed. For more information, call 270-924-2065.
