College Basketball

Murray State was tied with Drake 36-36 at halftime, but shot only 18 percent in the second half in losing its final game at the Gulf Coast Showcase 63-53. The Racers won just one of three games at the event to fall to 4-3 on the season. Tevin Brown was the only double figure scorer for Murray State with 18 points. The Racers return to action Tuesday at Missouri State.

Ninth ranked Kentucky will be without transfer Nate Sestina for about four weeks after surgery Wednesday to repair his broken left wrist. Sestina suffered the injury during practice on Tuesday. The Wildcats are back in action tomorrow night hosting UAB, with pregame at 4:30 on Lite Rock 98.7 and lite987whop.com.

Second ranked Louisville can help its cause to move to the top spot in the major polls with a win tomorrow against Western Kentucky at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena. Pregame coverage begins at 3:30 on News Radio 95.3 FM/1230 AM WHOP.

There’s a couple of women’s games on this Thanksgiving Day. 8th ranked Louisville faces UT Arlington at the Paradise Jam and Vanderbilt goes against Rutgers at the Junkaroo Jam.

College Football

Kentucky and Louisville continue preparations today before their meeting in the Governor’s Cup Saturday afternoon at Kroger Field. Pregame coverage begins at 9 am on Lite Rock 98.7 and lite987whop.com.

Vanderbilt and Tennessee are also hitting the practice fields today as they continue preparations for Saturday afternoon’s game in Knoxville.

Austin Peay and Furman are continuing to prepare for their first round FCS playoff game Saturday at noon at Fortera Stadium in Clarksville.

The annual “Egg Bowl” game takes place tonight as Ole Miss travels to Mississippi State. The Bulldogs can become bowl eligible with a win as they stand 5-6 while the Rebels are 4-7.

NFL

The traditional Thanksgiving Day games take place today. The opening game has the Detroit Lions hosting the Chicago Bears at noon, followed by the Dallas Cowboys welcoming the Buffalo Bills mid-afternoon and the evening game has the Atlanta Falcons entertaining the New Orleans Saints.

NHL

The Vegas Golden Knights got the game tying goal with less than a second left in regulation, then won in overtime over the Nashville Predators 4-3 last night at Bridgestone Arena. The Predators return to action tomorrow night at the Carolina Hurricanes.

NBA

Ja Morant had 20 points but it wasn’t enough for the Memphis Grizzlies who were edged by the Los Angeles Clippers 121-119 last night at Fed Ex Forum. The Grizzlies have dropped five games in a row and host the Utah Jazz tomorrow night.
