Arrest made after shot fired call

An arrest was made following a shot fired incident Monday night on Sarah Avenue.

Hopkinsville police responded to the 100 block of Sarah for the report of a single shot fired about 9:20 p.m. and found 27-year old Demerriel Harris of Hopkinsville jumping up and down on the driver’s side door of a vehicle with music playing very loud.

An arrest citation says there was a strong odor of alcohol coming from his person and he kept saying he wasn’t driving.

Officers reportedly found a shell casing just behind the vehicle and marijuana was located inside a gun case.

Harris was arrested and charged with first-degree wanton endangerment, trafficking in marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and public intoxication.

No one was injured by the gun shot.
