A two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Country Club Lane and South Sunset Drive sent a Hopkinsville woman to the hospital for treatment of injuries Thursday.
According to the Hopkinsville police report, a vehicle driven by 73-year old Barbara Watson of Hopkinsville was westbound on Country Club when she reportedly failed to see that traffic was stopped. A vehicle operated by 36-year old Ashley Moore of Hopkinsville was stopped waiting to turn left onto South Sunset.
Watson reportedly stated she was driving when she suddenly saw brake lights and slammed her brakes to try and avoid a collision, but was unable to do so. Watson’s vehicle collided with the rear of Moore’s.
Moore was transported to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for complaints of neck and back pain. Moore complained of pain to her hand but refused transport in an ambulance. Everyone involved was wearing a seat belt.
