Indictments returned for wanton endangerment, strangulation

A Christian County Grand Jury has returned indictments for multiple offenses, including wanton endangerment, strangulation and more Friday.

Indicted for four counts of first-degree wanton endangerment, first-degree criminal mischief and two counts of menacing is 62-year old Kenneth White of Crofton, for allegedly brandishing a firearm during an altercation with two individuals on ATV’s in September.

As he was leaving the victim’s property, he allegedly reversed and struck one of the victim’s four-wheeler with his vehicle, causing that person to be ejected. An arrest citation says the victim confronted White and that White fired a gun twice in the vicinity of that person, with one bullet striking the ATV.

Indicted for first-degree unlawful imprisonment, first-degree strangulation and fourth-degree assault is 55-year old Archie Joe Atkins of Hopkinsville.  He is alleged to have pulled a gun on his wife during an incident in September.  The victim told Hopkinsville police that Atkins backed her into a room with a gun and attempted to shoot her. The victim was not injured and she was able to escape the home.
