Trigg schools announce new superintendent

The Trigg County Board of Education has chosen its next superintendent.

William “Bill” Thorpe will assume those duties January 1, 2020, according to Interim Superintendent Tim McGinnis.

Thorpe comes from the Marshall County School System, where he has served as director of pupil personnel since July of 2017. He served as director of transportation and as an assistant principal at the high school prior to his current duties.

Thorpe also has experience in the classroom, having taught middle and high school social studies and history.

He’s a graduate of Marshall County High School, Murray State University and he has a Professional Certificate of Superintendent for the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
