‘Born Alive Bill’ to be a top priority for Westerfield in 2020

A pro-life piece of legislation will be a top priority again for state Senator Whitney Westetrfield of Christian County in the 2020 session of the Kentucky General Assembly.

Westerfield says the ‘Born Alive Infant Protection Bill’ would require that medical treatment be provided to an infant born alive during a failed abortion procedure.

He sponsored the same bill during the 2019 session and says he’s hopeful it will become law next year.

The 2020 session will begin January 7 with a Republican super-majority in the House and Senate and with newly-elected Democratic Andy Beshear in the governor’s mansion.
