The Hopkinsville Convention and Visitors Bureau is among local agencies looking to assist families affected by the Ebonite closure.
Executive Director Brooke Jung says Ebonite employees were always kind and helpful when her organization would bring tour groups to the plant and she decided to sell souvenir squish bowling balls at the welcome center and donate all proceeds to the Salvation Army’s initiative to assist those Ebonite families at Christmas.
She says it’s a way to show love and appreciation to those who lost their jobs right before the holidays.
The souvenirs are available for $5 each at the welcome center near Trail of Tears Park off East Ninth Street.
