Two charged with engaging in organized crime

Hopkinsville police charged two suspects with engaging in organized crime Monday.

Twenty-seven-year-old Jeanon Robinson and 24-year old Jason Godsey of Hopkinsville are both charged with engaging in organized crime as part of a criminal syndicate, with Godsey additionally charged with first-degree forgery and Robinson with criminal possession of a forged instrument and theft by deception.

Godsey allegedly manufactured the counterfeit cash and provided it to be used to make a purchase. Police say Robinson admitted to using a counterfeit bill in exchange for merchandise during a transaction last month.

A total of four people were involved in the criminal syndicate, according to the police reports, with Godsey already lodged in the Christian County Jail for other fake-money related charges. Robinson was cited into court.
