The Kentucky Court Appointed Special Advocates Network has awarded two Hopkinsville natives with the Pioneer Award and made a donation to the local chapter.
According to a news release, the 2019 recipient of the Pioneer Award for program development are Mike Foster and Tina Newby. Both played a vital role in bringing the CASA program to Christian County to help children who are involved in the court system.
Deputy Director of the Kentucky CASA Network Della Justice says, “Mr. Foster and Tina have played a very important role in getting the program started in Christian County, to include establishing the 501(c)3 status and writing all the by-laws. Here we are today with a new program in Christian County because of the hard work and dedication to start the program.”
The award was presented during the annual state conference in Owensboro last week, and the local CASA program was awarded a check on behalf of the award winners.
