Governor-Elect Andy Beshear is going full-speed a head follow Governor Matt Bevin’s concession, and announced his transition team Friday in Frankfort.
In a news conference, Beshear explained that his transition team will be diverse, from every corner of Kentucky and from different political parties—he says they’ll make sure the transition is smooth.
He says the team will help establish his priorities involving healthcare, education and the pension crisis.
Michael Brown is the Transition Team Chair and says they’ll work closely with the existing cabinet secretaries and their teams, figuring out what works and what doesn’t.
A name familiar to Hopkinsville will serve on the transition team—former State Representative Jeff Taylor of Hopkinsville is listed as a co-chair of the team working with the Transportation Cabinet. Another western Kentucky resident, John McConnell of Murray will serve as co-chair of the transition team working with the Tourism, Arts and Heritage Cabinet.
