KSR host Matt Jones will not run for U.S. Senate in 2020

Kentucky Sports Radio host Matt Jones announced Friday morning that he will not run for the United States Senate in 2020.

He made the choice to not run on Kentucky Sports Radio, saying it was a struggle to make a decision.

The announcement comes after years of consideration and more recently, following an FEC complaint that had him temporarily stepping away from his role of host on Kentucky Sports Radio host. Jones says the decision has nothing to do with the FEC complaint, but this is the best decision for him personally.

He says that even making the choice not run, he feels that Mitch McConnell needs to be defeated.

Jones would have faced Democrat Amy McGrath in a primary election, and he says this may open for the door for others to decide to run.  In the past, Jones has said that if he chose not to run at this time that he will never run for office in the future.
