The Ohio Valley Conference announced today Austin Peay’s Shay-Lee Kirby has been selected as Freshman of the Week. Kirby averaged 16.5 points and nine three pointers in two games. Kirby had 21 points and a team high six three pointers in a win over Kentucky Wesleyan.
Meanwhile, fellow Lady Governor Tahanee Bennell was named OVC Newcomer of the Week. Bennell averaged 13.5 points per game and made seven three-pointers in two games. Bennell had 21 points and five three-pointers versus Kentucky Weselyan. Austin Peay returns to action tomorrow night on the road at Illinois.
