Earlington man arrested after pursuit of stolen truck

An Earlington man was arrested following a pursuit of a stolen vehicle Sunday morning in Hopkins County.

Kentucky State Trooper Brian Graves attempted to pull over a bobtail truck driven by 26-year old Joshua Thacker of Earlington after seeing him disregard a red light, according to a news release, which says Thacker accelerated and turned from Main Street onto Oakwood Avenue in Earlington.

Thacker eventually lost control of his vehicle and left the roadway and a struggle ensued. Police say Thacker attempted to disarm Trooper Graves and fled on foot, but was caught and arrested.

He is facing multiple charges, including fleeing or evading police, third-degree assault of a police officer, attempt to disarm an officer, felony auto theft and resisting arrest. He was also served with outstanding warrants.
