Police: Suspect strangled woman, threatened to shoot dog

A Bowling Green resident accused of strangling a woman and threatening to shoot her dog was arrested by Hopkinsville police early Friday morning.

Officers were called to a domestic disturbance on Lancaster Drive about midnight and the victim said 26-year old Tyler Foust of Bowling Green became angry and then pushed her and struck her on the head.

Foust allegedly forced the victim into a corner and held her there with his hands around her neck.

The victim struggled and got away, which is when Foust reportedly grabbed a handgun and threatened to kill the dog.

An arrest citation say Foust then forced the woman into a bedroom and would not allow her to leave.

He also damaged the victim’s cell phone and punched the front door of the home during the incident, according to police.

Foust is charged with first-degree strangulation, criminal mischief and unlawful imprisonment.
