Current and former members of the military can receive discounts on lodging at Kentucky state parks through March.
Gill Lawson says those on active military duty, retired members of the military, veterans, members of the National Guard and reservists, are eligible for the program.
With Fort Campbell and Fort Knox in Kentucky, Lawson says the military discount program allows members of the military to use state parks in any number of ways at a lower cost during these fall and winter months.
With the USA Military Discount, lodge rooms are available starting at about $60 a night; one-bedroom cottages for about $80 a night; two-bedroom cottages for $90 a night and three-bedroom cottages for $100 a night.
The rate is $5 more per night at the Barren River, Cumberland Falls, Kentucky Dam Village, Lake Barkley, Lake Cumberland and Natural Bridge parks.
One can use the discount by making a reservation at parks.ky.gov and entering the promo code “USA.”
