Cameron to be AG, Quarles, Harmon, Ball win re-election

Andy Beshear was the only Democrat to achieve success in a statewide race Tuesday, as the rest of the Republican slate was victorious.

Daniel Cameron defeated former attorney general Greg Stumbo by a margin of about 15 percent, becoming the first African-American to ever hold that office in Kentucky.

Ag. Commissioner Ryan Quarles defeated Robert Conway by about 20 percent and says he’ll continue pushing hemp as a cash crop.

Treasurer Allison Ball had no problem winning over Michael Bowman by about 21 percent and pledged to continue an emphasis on financial literacy in the Commonwealth.

Auditor Mike Harmon won re-election by 14 percent over Democrat Sheri Donahue and says he’ll continue operating his office in a non-partisan way.

The closest race was Republican Michael Adams defeating Heather French-Henry by a 4 and a half percent margin.
