Woman arrested for felony theft

A woman who found a wallet at Walmart and allegedly removed cash from inside was arrested early Tuesday morning for felony theft.

An arrest citation for 33-year old Brittany Filiatreau of Hopkinsville says she found a wallet at Walmart and removed $800 from inside. Loss prevention personnel said she then turned the wallet in to store employees without the cash and left.

When the owner of the wallet returned to the store and retrieved it, the victim was able to say how much cash had been inside.

Filiatreau was located on Hill Street and initially denied taking the cash, but then returned the $800. She was arrested and charged with felony theft by unlawful taking.
