Two arrested for meth trafficking, gun charges

An investigation by the Christian County Sheriff’s Department over the weekend led to the arrests of two men for drug trafficking and gun charges.

Deputy Clevin Robinson went to a home in the 2000 block of Dawson Springs Road for a theft investigation Saturday night and saw a methamphetamine pipe in plain view, according to a news release.

Deputies detained 64-year old Robert Crafton of Hopkinsville and 42-year old Michael Lear of Mortons Gap while a search was conducted.

Police say they found 35 grams of meth packaged for sale, three handguns, restricted ammunition and drug paraphernalia.

Crafton and Lear were arrested for trafficking in meth, use of restricted ammunition during commission of a felony and possession of drug paraphernalia. Lear was additionally charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of marijuana.
