The Kentucky High School Athletic Association announced the 2020 inductees to the Dawahares/KHSAA Hall of Fame today.
The inductees include former University Heights basketball standout Greg Buckner. Buckner was a member of the 1992 state championship team that defeated Lexington Catholic. Buckner later played for Clemson University and in the NBA for the Dallas Mavericks and Memphis Grizzlies.
Others to be enshrined include former Paintsville High football and basketball standout Joey Couch-who later played football at the University of Kentucky, along with legendary Danville High football coach Sam Harp and former Western Kentucky Lady Topper Sharae Mansfield, who played her prep basketball for Dupont Manual.
The induction ceremony will be held in Lexington next May 30th. The 2020 class will increase the number of members of the Hall of Fame to 491.
