Unemployment was down from August to September in all nine Pennyrile counties.
Christian County’s jobless rate was 5.1 percent, down from 5.8 percent in August and down from 5.3 percent a year ago. That equated to 1,291 people looking for work and unable to find it.
Todd County still has the region’s lowest unemployment rate at 3.4 percent, down from 3.9 percent in August and from 3.5 percent in September of 2018.
The jobless rate in Trigg County last month was 3.8 percent, down from 4.2 percent in August and from an even 4 percent a year ago.
Muhlenberg County had the Pennyrile region’s highest unemployment rate at 5.7 percent.
The statewide average was the 3.8 percent and the national number was 3.3 percent.
