With a chill in the air and Halloween next week, it’s time for the story of the Bell Witch with Historian William Turner at Jeffers’ Bend Environmental Center for Torchlight Tales.
It’s set for Saturday at 6 p.m. at Jeffers’ Bend Environmental Center at Metcalfe Lane in Hopkinsville and Charles Turner with the steering committee says the local historian will once again re-tell the story of the strange events that happened in the early 19th century in Adams, Tennessee.
He says there will be some seating available but encouraged people to bring their own chairs and blankets, and that this event has been very popular in the past.
Turner encourages families to attend and be witness to the “strange” things that can happen during the telling. Hot chocolate, homemade cookies and s’mores will be served upon arrival and the cost for entry is $5 per car with free entry for active military and first responders.
