Todd County Middle School band director Heather Dipasquale has been selected as a semifinalist for the Music Educator Award presented by the Recording Academy and the Grammy Museum.
A news release says the annual award was established to recognize current educators, from kindergarten through college, who have made a significant and lasting contribution to the field of music education and who demonstrate a commitment to the broader cause of maintaining music education in the schools.
A total of 25 music teachers from 25 cities across 18 states, have been announced as semifinalists. In total, more than 3,300 initial nominations were submitted from all 50 states.
Finalists will be announced in December.
Dipasquale is also the assistant band director at Todd County Central High School.
