The inaugural Hoptown Half Marathon and 5K brought in just over $14,000 for the United Way of the Pennyrile.
The overall total was $14,131, according to the Hopkinsville Parks and Recreation Department, which says that donation will officially be made during a ceremony in the near future.
They will also donate $1,000 to the Walk to End Alzheimer’s which moved its event to Sunday this year to accommodate the races.
Next year’s half marathon and 5K has already been scheduled for September 19, 2020.
