Downtown Hopkinsville will soon be home to a new eatery, following several months of renovation and a successful Kickstarter campaign.
The Mixer will open on December 4, according to a news release, which states it will serve a large variety of pastries, tarts and other baked goods during the day. Lunch sandwiches will also be served between the times of 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Starting at 5 p.m. The Mixer will start serving a full dinner menu, along with hand-crafted cocktails served from the cocktail bar. Graham Dawson is working with a local historian to develop themed drinks inspired by local buildings.
The restaurant will be open Wednesday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday and from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and will be joined by Chief Lane Meinert.
The restaurant—which is located where what was once the Young Hardware building on East Sixth Street—will have an 84-person capacity, with room on the mezzanine level for private events. The private event space can host up to 40 people for sit-down table service.
Co-owner Heather Dawson says, “We love our Kentucky home and can’t wait to share The Mixer with this town. The support we gained through our Kickstarter campaign was overwhelming. We are committed to serving up the best food, desserts and drinks around in such a historic building.”
