Registration continues for the 2nd Annual Officer Phillip Meacham Memorial 5K Run/Walk.
The event is set for 8:30 a.m. Saturday, November 2 and it will begin at the Christian County Justice Center.
Christian County Sheriff’s Deputy Ross Woodward says you can pre-register online for $25 at the Hopkinsville Parks and Recreation Department website through noon Saturday.
The 10K run has been removed from the event due to lack of interest, but Deputy Woodward says the 5K will happen and there’s still opportunities for local businesses to sign up to sponsor the event.
All money raised will go into a fund for law enforcement agencies across Kentucky, which can apply for grants to buy equipment to protect officers and K9 units.
Hopkinsville Police Officer Phillip Meacham was shot and killed by a suspect on March 29th, 2018 during an investigation on Paulette Court.
