Minority Economic Development Initiative, Inc. will be kicking of MED Week in Christian County next week with their annual awards banquet set for Monday evening.
Executive Director Henry Snorton appeared on WHOP and says the banquet will be 6 p.m. Monday at the Pioneers Complex on North Main Street and this year’s keynote speaker is Kentucky State University President Dr. M. Christopher Brown II. Snorton says there are some tickets still available but they’re going fast, so call MEDI to get your tickets in advance.
He says at the banquet, they’ll recognize the many volunteers and community partners that helped make the inaugural E.F. Whitney Classic a big success in 2018.
The banquet kicks off MED Week, which will be full of events celebrating local minority business and entrepreneurs. There will be a ‘Churches Leading Community and Economic Development’ panel on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at the MEDI office on North Main Street, featuring Rev. Larry Rascoe and Rev. Adrian Brooks, both of Evansville, and Hopkinsville pastor and Hopkinsville City Councilmember Dr. Reverend Darvin Adams.
