Two arrested after Madisonville shots fired incident

Two Evansville men were arrested following a shots fired incident Tuesday afternoon in Madisonville.

A news release says Madisonville police received a call of shots fired on Harrig Street about 4:30 p.m. and officers located the vehicle believed to be involved a short time later. The driver did not stop wen a traffic stop was initiated and police say a handgun and ski mask were tossed out of the vehicle during a pursuit.

The vehicle finally stopped on Interstate 69 in Hopkins County and police arrested 19-year old Ahvier Lamb and 21-year old Marquis McRae of Evansville. Lamb was charged with wanton endangerment, first-degree attempted assault and fleeing or evading police.

McRae was charged with tampering with evidence, possession of a handgun by a felon and possession of marijuana.

No injuries were reported in the shooting.
