Kentucky Transportation Cabinet officials were in Muhlenberg County recently to announce discretionary road funds to address several problem areas.
About $371,000 in discretionary funds was awarded for vital resurfacing work in the cities of Drakesboro and Central City.
In Drakesboro, $71,553 was awarded for resurfacing on Christian Street, Goose Hollow Street, and Ricedale Circle.
Drakesboro Mayor Mike Jones is quoted in a news release as saying, “This funding will provide much-needed street repairs that will not only revitalize the look of Drakesboro to potentially expand our economic development, but will make the roads safer for the community.”
Meanwhile, Central City was awarded about $299,000 for resurfacing on ten city streets.
Central City Mayor Tony Armour says, “These additional dollars will help us accelerate our paving projects and ensure that our streets are safe and well-maintained for our families and visitors.”
