A Pembroke man sought on a warrant was arrested Tuesday night following a foot pursuit.
An arrest citation for 40-year old Larry Gibbs of Pembroke says he was a passenger in a vehicle pulled over in a traffic stop and that he fled on foot.
Hopkinsville police Officer Gary Hicks chased him into a wooded area and down a steep ravine, with Officer Hicks and Gibbs falling to the ground. Gibbs was taken into custody and arrested on charges of first-degree fleeing or evading police, resisting arrest, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of paraphernalia. He was also served with a warrant for contempt of court.
Gibbs reportedly said he ran because he knew had a warrant out for his arrest.
Officer Hicks and Gibbs sustained cuts and abrasions from the fall, according to the report.
