Legendary Lexington Henry Clay coach Al Prewitt passed away Tuesday at age 86. He spent 33 seasons at Millersburg Military Institute and Henry Clay, compiling a 654-237 record. His 1983 Henry Clay team defeated Carlisle County 35-33 in triple overtime to win a state title. The 1984 Henry Clay team lost to eventual winner Logan County in the quarterfinals 70-68 in overtime. Prewitt is a member of the Dawahares/KHSAA Hall of Fame and was recently inducted into the Kentucky High School Basketball Hall of Fame.
