Hopkinsville police charged a man with animal cruelty following an investigation Monday afternoon on Maplelawn Street.
An Animal Control officer was called to an address in the 100 block of Maplelawn and found a dog tied to a pole with a very short leash and without food or water. The dog’s owner, 27-year old Kevin Rippeon of Hopkinsville, reportedly told police the dog had been outside for about six hours.
Rippeon was charged with second-degree cruelty to animals.
